Abanca and the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce introduced the first ISMS Forum in Miami hosted at the Cybersecurity Center of the Americas a conference to discuss about Cybersecurity in
Europe, Latam and the US on February 28th, with the presence of a delegation from ISMS forum, that brought 23 CISOs from some of the most important companies in Spain.
A total of 10 speakers discussed the importance of the Cybersecurity around the world and the new challenges for the near future. The conference had two panels; the first one called “Cybersecurity from both sides of the Atlantic” having as speakers Leonardo Amor, Head of Security Telefónica, José Ramón Monleón, CISO Orange España, Rubén Fernández, CISO DIA Group, Alfonso del Castillo, CEO & Founder SEKURA Group and Felipe Conill, Business Development VP Appgate.
The second panel called “CISO’s responsibilities: awareness, education and resiliency in the
digital age”, had as speakers Roberto Baratta, Director of Loss Prevention, Business Continuity and Security & DPO ABANCA, Luis Ballesteros, ISMS Forum, Frank Sancho, Director of Product Management Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Jorge Ortega, Director of the Cybersecurity Center of the Americas Miami-Dade College and Alejandro
Planas, General Manager Escala 24×7.
Nowadays, cybersecurity is one of the main concerns for companies, individuals and governments. As Francisco Lázaro, Head of the Cybersecurity and Privacy Area of the Renfe Group said:
“Our way and quality of life will depend to a large extent on how cybersecurity is taken seriously in the IoT world. With the extended use of the Internet of Things (IoT), it is expected that by the end of 2020, 200 billion devices will be connected through the IoT.”
“New regulations such as the GDPR or the CCPA, will increase the potential impact of online threats and everyone should be aware of the risks and the strategies to reduce them” noted Juan Carlos Pereira, executive director at the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce.
ISMS is a specialized forum where companies, public and private organizations, researchers and experts collaborate and have discussions on the latest advances in information security.
